I just found this site in the last 2 weeks. After reading through a few of the discussions and groups I thought it a good idea to join and try to become more involved with the groups here. I'll be most interested in seeing what other k-8 teachers are doing with students as far as "tech" is considered. I'm in an all Macintosh environment (much to the chagrin of our district's heirarchy!) so will be looking for ideas and apps that work on OSX PowerPC machines. I support about 100 iBooks in the hands of middleschool students. ANY ideas on that will be helpful. So here I am, and here I go.

Hi Bob,
good to know I'm not the only Macster here. I just signed up a couple of days ago too. Many of the useful apps I've come across are AJAX based web apps, so I wouldn't worry too much about compatibility.

Most of our apps, at this point, are proprietary software that we have site, network, or multiple licenses for. I have just recently added OpenOffice to our lab as I prepare for a major upgrade to my eMacs. Well, memory and moving up to Tiger 10.4.x on them is a major upgrade. I didn't think it worthwhile to move up to Leopard on older machines.
We're still exploring other apps to use, particularly at the middle school level on their iBooks. Any suggestions?
