Summer is finally here (okay in three days summer will be here for us) and it's time to look toward summer ventures. Christine and I have connected with so many people online and would love to communicate this summer with anyone who teaches ages 10-12 and would be interested in a collaboration next year. We are looking to continue using our blogsite, creating wikis, and, our new favorite, skyping and webcam conferences. Any other ideas? Want to be a part of the excitement? Contact us here or at collaborative@herricks.org. Can't wait to hear from you all!

I'd love to tap into your local resources for history and cultural info. I'd also like to tap into your resources for parents--I love to use parents and/or their contacts to share information with students. The topics will be varied; I'm doing a re-vamp of our delivery system in July, so will know more details on specific topics later this summer.

Otherwise, count me IN! :)

Can't wait to talk again. I'm going to download skype at home so we can connect that way. We can make it a bit later in the day for you next time. :)

I'm very interested. Let's figure out some ways to collaborate! This will be very uplifting, to work with such distinguished colleagues! (Not sure I'm anywhere near your techno-skills, but have a willing and creative spirit!)

I haven't been assigned to classes yet, but the kids(they usu know more than I do anyway)say I am teaching 7th grade. What topic is a good question, but in any case that would be 12-13 years I think. I would welcome that. If you are interested in 5th graders collaborating, I probably can get our 5th grade teacher to work with you. I don't know who is doing 6th grade - our 6th grade teacher left to pursue missionary work in Peru. It will likely be some one new and integrating technology, unless they are already 'on board' would likely be too much. Best not ovetwhelm the newbies. I teach two classes in July - July 9-12 and July 16-19. Love to try a videoskype on July 12 and July 19 then. They could tell you what they did in class! I will have grades 3-5 in July, probably about six kids...summer is slow...enjoy yours! Hope to see you both at WOW2.0 each week and maybe at NECC next week virtually?

July is out with children but I'm going to take the webcam home and play this summer so I'll check you out on those dates. Don't know what WOW2.0 is but now I'm going to look. Plan to check out every virtual NECC site I can. See you there.

Count us in - my class is ages 7-11 in a tiny little two class school in England. We want to try out blogging and 'Internationalism' next academic year (2007-2008), so if you are up for the International Art project I described that would be great. Otherwise we also plan to celebrate World Book day (March/April date to be confirmed 2008), European Day of Languages (26th September 2007) and a Unicef day (Usually Spring term). Would love to collaborate.
