Hi everyone, As I wrote in my member profile, I'm an English teacher living and working in western Japan (Toyama City). I'm extremely interested in Web 2.0, and am currently involved in researching its applications for teaching English as a foreign language (EFL). At our school, the Toyama College of Foreign Languages, I am in charge of our video production lab, a task that puts me in a room filled with some excellent toys (HD digital camera, recording equipment, iMacs, and all the software I need). I'm hopeful that my involvement here at Classroom 2.0 will give me some ideas on new things I can do with my students. In addition, I am currently gearing up to do a PhD with Aston University (via distance learning), an action research project that will study online community building. I would like to research the entire phenomenon, and create a website that supports distance learners in the Aston Masters of Science in TESOL program (Aston MSc) complete their studies. I'm currently deciding what sort of form this website should take, a motivating factor in joining this community. I have a lot to learn about Web 2.0, so I'm really looking forward to getting involved with all of you.
