New York Online Learning Update

Check out my most recent blog posts on the transformation of education in New York. The new tech plan clearly sees NY in a new direction. The RTTT application integrated virtual education in many areas. As one of the last states to embrace online learning, the transformation is interesting.

Are you ready for a virtual high school?

Please see my recent blog posts on a site I have created to discuss this important topic...

Go to www.hybridhighschool.com, read, comment, share your views and ideas. We need to talk about this! Unless you are retiring very soon, you will not retire in a profession that resembles this one. Is that ok? How can we do this correctly?

Hybrid High School? k12 Online Learning Apps

Hello Everyone!

I wanted to share this video I created and posted on youTube this week. I created it to express my views and summarize the training I gave this week in Ellicottville, New York. I am a high school social studies teacher of at risk students and am using Moodle to turn my classroom into a hybrid course. I still see my kids the same number of days and my classroom really looks just as it did before. I have added an online component in Moodle and have basically extended… Continue

Personally, I use it for music, podcasts, videos and for my review masterycasts. My students… Continue

How to create a simple podcast, part 1!

This is a cross post of my blog article discussing the way I create the "masterycasts" on MasteryMaze.com. It is the first part in a series designed for the teacher who has NO background in this!

You can find it in the blog at MasteryMaze.com.

The Pale Blue Dot

I believe that education is one of the most, if not the most important profession; we truly impact the world every day through the lives of our students. In my blog on www.masterymaze.com, one of my posts is "The Pale Blue Dot" which discusses the importance of collaboration, sharing and mutual responsibility. As a preface I offer a view of one of my favorite YouTube videos entitled "The Pale Blue Dot", which offers an interesting reflection on the…
