OGA Conference

I just attended the Oregon Geographic Alliance annual conference this weekend. They do such great things. It's an organization of all of the geography teachers in the state and members have opportunities to attend a Summer Institute -- at no charge. And each year they take a group of teachers to some place in the world to explore geography concepts (again--it's free for the teachers). Last summer they went to Turkey. Next summer they are taking the Orient Express across China and Mongolia.…

WCET 2009

I've been at the WCET conference this week learning about online learning. Turns out, a lot of the sessions have been about Web 2.0 tools. Teachers across the country are finding hundreds of new tools that make it easier to communicate with students and to facilitate collaboration in their classrooms.
