(Final post in a series on current uses of Virtual Worlds in Education)

This week I will wrap up the series of posts I published throughout June, focused on Internet based Virtual World technologies as they are being used in Education today. As I researched current VW tech options for education, it became apparent to me that Second Life remains the most… Continue

NECC09 in Washington, DC will feature LOTS of Second Life activity

Hey, ya'll. Just want to toss out there that one of my favorite networks, Second Life, will be getting a lot of attention at ISTE's NECC come June 27-July 1 this summer.

I'm helping facilitate two 3-hour workshops on the topic, a 3-day running Second Life Playground, and a Birds of a Feather. I'm also helping put together a BOF on the topic of my favorite new VW for kids, Quest Atlantis: I'll be a bizzy bee, for sure. You can see (and register for, if you wish!) all our workshop and… Continue

Take your pick of innovative ideas at Wisconsin education conference: Project Based learning, digital technology, games and learning, and more . . .

Interested in any of the following mini conferences near Milwaukee on April 20 and 21st?

(Number 2 seems interesting to me.)

The Wisconsin Charter Schools Association is hosting their annual conference in Waukesha at the Country Springs Hotel (about 20 minutes west of Milwaukee). I have to say, they have put together a pretty interesting conference, and they promise that all the sessions will be interactive.

It took me quite a while to figure out just how to sit down at the amphitheater and forget learning how to raise my hand during the presentation, instead I accidentally jumped up in the air when I tried to follow the commands people were… Continue
