Linking the Human Mind with Video Games

The human mind is always running. Just like a video game, there is always something going on in there. It very well acts and functions in similar ways. The mind is very creative, based on what is visualized and then simulated. Humans take these simulations and act upon them to establish goals. Human thinking and learning is externalized out in the world. When we are playing video games, we try to recreate what is provided, in order to make it conducive for ourselves. Weblog 6: Course Website

Creating a Course / Class Website is interesting. One could spend hours and hours each day adding various links and pages. I actually started a web site earlier this year, but never finished. We are of various colors, cultures, religions, beliefs, and values. To me, this creates a richness of family and endless possibilities. The art and craft of how… Continue

WebLog 2: New and Old Teaching

How we taught years ago definitely needs to change today. Of course some of our pedagogies will be that of our past, but a great deal needs to be incorporated with technology. The pedagogy, connectivity, multimodality, and interdisciplinarity of teachers and students are important issues within education today. After reading Luke, which was very wordy and lengthy, I was able to realize just how important our style of teaching affects students. The overwhelming amount of media culture is at times… Continue

Laptops in the Heights

Hi CHUH Colleagues,

Today was our first day of class, so what did you think? I wish our other colleagues could have joined us, but oh well. I'm looking forward to learning so much about our laptops. It will be great to share some of our experiences with our students.

Hi Tiffany. I was wondering if you have students or educator contacts who would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
