Hi Sandy, This year I will be teaching Years 7, 8, 10, 11. I have the Year 8's (equivalent to Grade 7 in the US) for the entire year so it would be easier to fit something in (that is not in the syllabus).
Which age group will you be working with this year?
Happy New Year! I was wondering if you have any 2ndary education contacts who would be interested in participating in a nationwide Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. We'd really like to get more students involved from Florida!
You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
Hi Sandy,
I really like the idea of using VoiceThreads to introduce Tampa and Lisbon. I will have a group of Year 7's (equal to Grade 6) and still young enough to interact with your primary school children.
We don't start back to school until next week but think that there might be a possibility that I could work with some junior school students in an afterschool activity. But I'm not sure about that.
Our interaction would not be the main focus of our class but a really fun addition! And I think both groups of kids will benefit from this project:-)
I am an American (from Pittsburgh, PA) who works at an (IB) international school just outside Lisbon (Portugal).
Yes, English is the language of instruction at our school although English is usually the 2nd (or 3rd) language of our students. Most of the kids (about 75-80%) are Portuguese.
I am a technology teacher and I will be teaching kids from Years 7-11.
I see that you are working with kids PreK-5 and don't know if we can create a project that works for both of us. Any ideas?

It's always good to see fellow Floridians expanding their knowledge of technology integration! Welcome to the network:)
