What a great list of activities for cellphones in the classroom.  I'd like to suggest adding a line for "flashcard" style drills -- especially for practicing vocabular in world language learning -- this is something that can…

Greetings Sandy...I hope it is not raining in BC...When I visit my property in Winfield, Okanagan Valley it's not rainy; however, when I visit Vancouver or Vic on the island it requires that I bring Welly Boots, and an umbie just like Scotland Baaaaaaaa! Anyway, great to share with a fellow teacher....Kindest regards, Ian

Welcome to the Mashup, Sandy. I know my top tools lists are really different from most people's but I really tend to think my way into these things from the 'old school' side of how do I take a lesson I like and spiff it up with a new tool.

Hi Sandy -- I'd like to invite you to join a Classroom 2.0 group called Canadians Mashup. I'm trying to build a network of Canadian educators and bloggers who are interested in sharing and connecting.

3 steps:

(1) Navigate to the Sue Hellman page. Part way down on the left is a Canadian map under My Groups. If you click on that and then look beneath the main banner (right of center) on the group page, you should see + Join this Group. Click and you’ll be in.

(2) Invite me to be a colleague please.

(3) If you add yourself to the map, please include a name or a photo of some sort. 'Anonymous' cannot be distinguished from ‘Unknown Location’ when I try to clean up the false starts. THANKS!!!!

I wonder if there are similarities between Canadian Indigenous communities and those in Australia? Many communities have extremely low literacy levels and are ESL. Teaching in remote areas is difficult, there is a literacy program and some professional development, but I think that an online community could be extremely beneficial to those teachers (as well as for us maths teachers).

Hi Sandy, my welcome from Bavaria.
I focus on Web 2.0 apps as to education and I created the biggest group on Classroom 2.0 about digital teaching methods called DigiSkills with now 320 members!
Would love if you decide to join.
Moreove I offered every member to share our bookmarks - since I created a Diigo group too.
Hans
