Invitation

http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/living/2011/07/19/natpkg.orig.god.listens.lucas.cnn?hpt=hp_c1 This video is a reminder to me that sometimes people just need an invitation to get them to where you want them to be. I think this applies to education in many ways. For instance, when teachers sometimes give up on students who they think "just can't cut it." With some students, all they need…See More

Changing Our Culture

Can we actually change our schools without changing our communities? That's the question that I keep asking myself. To me, no matter what we do, we have to first change the culture of our entire community before we can properly change the culture of our school districts. But is their a possibility that we can do both at the same time? If your students come from a community of people who suffer from an entitlement mentality, why would you wonder why the kids you teach act the way they do? How…See More

"I agree with Rachel, I think all of them should be linked together. The great thing about Classroom 2.0 is it's formatted so closely to Facebook. I think kids would be more comfortable using it than some other sites."

Technology In Education

A little more than 10 years ago, as I sat behind my first computer, if you would have told me that people would be conducting and attending meetings on computers, I would have laughed at you. Heck, you were lucky if you could align all of the dots up and create a "picture." Now, we can view live television from our computers (that now sit on our laps or maybe even in our hands) and nobody can live without them. It is truly amazing how quickly technology has taken over our lives. As educators,…See More

Mastering Classroom 2.0

Trust in the fact that I'm no master when it comes to Classroom 2.0, but with my experience in web education, I feel like I can help get this page started. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to shoot me a message. I would like this site to get as big as possible so that we can have a centralized spot to collaborate.
