I was born in Erzurum in 1983. I am the second child of a family of four children. After attending Mecidiye Primary and Secondary school I enrolled at the University of Ataturk, in 2001. I completed an Electiricity Program of Ataturk University Vocational Higher School, where I achieved the first place among 60 graduates of the 2002—2003 academic year. During this period, I worked for 6 months at the Turkish Telecom Company, as a trainee. I worked on the switchboard and the engineering department. In 2003 I was examined by The Higher Education Council; my aim was to attend at Education Faculty. Finally I was placed in the Technical Faculty at Marmara University, in the Electrical Department. In 2006, I graduated with a BS degree. I also took pedagogical lessons which are necessity to become a teacher.
During my undergraduate years, I worked on building up an academic and intellectual background in order to become a successful scholar and an experienced teacher. I obtained information about teaching, education, electronics, computers and electricity. I worked for 4 months in Umraniye Secondary School as a teacher as part of my teacher training. During this period, I monitored the behavior of students in the class, wrote a reports for each student regarding his/her attitude and contribution to the class. I also discussed students’ progress with lecturers and classmates. In the last semester, I worked for 4 months in Pendik Secondary Vocational School as a teacher. I also gave lessons in Basic Electronics. During these lessons, I developed skills in Classroom Management and Special Instructional Methods.
Whilst working for 1 year as accountant at Marmara University, I used MS Office Programmes. During that year, my job was to arrange receipts and personal documents. I also helped to connect computer networks between departments and repair printer software. In my spare time I attended a Computer Course to learn CAD and other Office Programmes such as Excel. In 2006, I was examined by The Ministry of National Education and obtained a computer qualification. I also worked on an online shopping site as a webmaster. I used MS Office programmes, Macromedia Flash and Photoshop to design attractive banners for customers. I updated some websites with Asp and Html Languages. I programmed software to follow the prices of competing firms using excel.
My major design project was about Electronic Laboratory (E-LAB). I found out about useful and harmful practice. I gave information about electrical and electronic simulators. I considered the advantages and disadvantages of e-laboratory. I made a presentation on Pneumatic simulators. I published all the information on a website which I designed with html and asp.
Now, I am studying in ICT and Education at university of Leeds. I will be graduating in September 2009. After I am planning to take a PHD degree in England on how I can design an online environment such us YUGMA, Eliminate live! Especially for electricity students.
