About Me
I have been teaching for 13 years. I have taught K, grades 5, 4/5, library, math enrichment, art grades 4 -7, learning assistance/special ed and ESL/D. I am also a therapeutic tutor for students with dyslexia.

I am currently working on a MEd from Simon Fraser University and I have a huge interest in Web 2.0 for educational use.

I currently hold a position as a teacher-librarian in a dual-track English/French-Immersion school. I have just begun to use technology with my intermediate research students as part of my inquiry research project for my MEd.

I am very interested in digital storytelling and would love to hear from others with the same interest and much more experience with it than me!

Hi Cindy!

If your interested in working collaboratively on ANY project just let me know. We've got students at my school using blogs, wikis and Skype. On Monay (March 2) we are connecting with a class from Alabama to "Read Across (North) America". Grade 2/3 students will be reading Dr. Seuss books to each other over Skype.

Hi Cindy and welcome to the Mashup. Sorry to be so slow in greeting you , but we had a problem with floods of emails going out so I stopped everything for a while to let that settle down. I have a friend here who teaches in the TLITE program and I'm heading back to school (at 57) to do an online Masters in Instructional Media with Wilkes.

Hi Cindy,

With your interest in Web 2.0, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.

Hi Cindy -- I'd like to invite you to join a Classroom 2.0 group called Canadians Mashup. I'm trying to build a network of Canadian educators and bloggers. No discussions yet. I'm just starting out by trying to find where everyone lives and what they teach. If you're interested, please add me as a colleague as well.

If you add yourself to the map, please include a name or a photo of some sort. There seem to be a lot of unidentified people from unidentified places and the map is getting stuck on for some reason. The problem is that I can't tell from the members’ list which anonymous hits are real people and which were just false starts. The company does not differentiate members unless there is a picture or a name. Location only is not enough to help me know which entries are not real ones. THANKS!!!!

I think you might want to get Paul Hamilton (a member of Classroom 2.0) into your Inclusion Revolution group. His blog is interesting and so is his UDL work.

Hi Cindy, got your message. It has been a bit of a crazy week for me this week so I missed a few things. Sorry I missed today at 11. I've taken the day off and so this morning my family and I were driving up to Whistler. We're having a very late Christmas turkey dinner tonight and skiing the rest of the the weekend. Don't suppose you're off Monday? Monday evening could work or if not maybe next Friday?

Hey Cindy, great to see you here. I'm happy to try using elluminate with you. I can show you around a little or introduce you to someone who knows it well. Just let me know a time that works for you. BC edonline will set up an elluminate classroom for you free of charge if you find it useful.
