Hi all. I'm Chrissie, and I've been teaching 8th grade English on Long Island, NY for fifteen years. We just finished The Outsiders, and are currently giving Power Point presentations on a non-fiction outside reading book. Looking for some…

About Me
I've been teaching 8th grade English for 15 years in the same district where I attended. I am married and have two daughters, ages 7 and 4. I'm excited to learn more about collaborative technologies. I'm also looking to spread the word about 21st Century learning to a loving "old school" staff.

Hi Christine! My name is Mariam -- I teach 6th grade language arts. Like most everyone in this Ning community, I see that education is moving fast toward a paperless classroom. With that, I'm trying to do my part to make my classroom more web 2.0 friendly. I've tried doing podcasts, videos, blogs, and quizzes online. I'm looking for ways to incorporate more technology in my classroom for reading, composition, spelling/vocabulary, critical thinking, and grammar. I was wondering if you had any ideas -- especially for grammar. I'm at a loss coming up with ways to teach grammar and incorporate technology :) I'd appreciate any help you can give!

Hi - I'm teaching 7th and 8th grade English. We do very few class novels, so we wouldn't be good to pair with you on a common book, but great to hear from you.
