About Me
I come to HGSE with a career background in adult education in the corporate and non-profit sectors, utilizing residential and blended solutions to focus on leadership development and professional skills, women's empowerment overseas, and technology training.

My primary interest is in the engineering of educational experiences, specifically the art of designing an educational experience to engage learners in a collaborative learning community, while maintaining a sense of personal responsibility and initiative for their own learning. Factors of interest include how technology (and blended solutions) can create communities, encourage learning, and leverage collective intelligence; how to design giving consideration to the intellectual, social, and psychological needs of learners; and how to lead an educational experience by establishing expectations, guiding the setting of group norms, and evolving the experience through iterative experimentation and 360' feedback.

Throughout the course of my career I have been involved in the design, development, facilitation, implementation and strategy of educational experiences. After facilitating classroom training, I soon moved to become more involved in curriculum design and development. While living in Germany, I started a non-profit program focused on women's empowerment, personal and professional development, featuring a month-long immersion program. At PricewaterhouseCoopers, a large global accounting firm, I consulted with internal stakeholders to develop learning strategy and utilize blended solutions (residential, self-study, collaborative workspaces, podcasts, etc) to provide learning solutions for professional skills and leadership development programming.

Hi Allison!

Hope you're enjoying the winter break. I was wondering if you have any 2ndary education contacts who would be interested in participating in a nationwide Vocab Video Contest @ MIT. We're trying to get the word out as much as possible because the more videos we get, the more helpful we can be!

You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
