I am having trouble getting started

I am new to open source software and I have been having a difficulty time learning some of the basics any suggestions on where to brush up on the basics so I can use my xo

I'm not sure it's the open source platform that's complicating things necessarily, but the Sugar interface does take some getting used to. I think the"getting started" guides on the OLPC wiki are very helpful. Try this: XO Activities.
