I am building a site for educators by educators. My vision for my site would be one that is a one stop shop for educators where they can come to find any content they need in roder to do a lesson. The site is a social netwroking site on ning where teachers con discuss content but is also one where teachers are encouraged to upload content such as pictures, audio, video or lesson plans to share with others. Seeing that this site is global, it would e nice if people could contribute pictures either historical, scientific, or what ever they have taken which may be useful in teaching a lesson on some subject. For example, I live near massachusetts and have worked for the National Park service teaching about the Industrial Revolution and The American Revolution in the past. I plan as soon as I get a chance to scan some of those pictures in or upload from my library some pictures teachers could use to teach about those subjects. If everyone did something even just like that, We could build a very powerful site. Any audio people may have is also appreciated. Lets say you recorded something a teacher could use for a lesson, upload it in mp3 format to my site and we could have it for teachers use. Maybe you have taken video which would help a teacher teach a lesson. Upload it to Youtube and then embed the code. If you need help with any of this, you can contact me via my site and I can help you. If you have a great lesson to share, Upload it to my site and I will try and catagorize it for you. I will not charge for any use of this. Once the storage space Ning gives me is up, I will simply seek donations enough to purchase more. IF I get extra donations I will only use it to make the site better like pirchasing our own URL or something. So please come to my site and be a part of building it. Lets make this a site built by educators for educators.
