I'm new to this site. I've added you to my delicious account, I think. I teach learning assistance/support (special ed). I am very new to the whole techology based teaching thing. I am taking a graduate diploma in Teaching in a Technological Environment (TLITE) and a faculty associate at the university has gotten me hooked on Web 2.0 in the classroom! Ihave joined your group and look forward to reading forums, posts, blogs etc from your group.
Welcome Cindy! You're in the right place. I created this space as a place for special education teachers to share their experiences with technology and web 2.0 resources. In your class have you come across any new web 2.0 tools that would benefit teachers who help students with special needs? What is your favorite web 2.0 tool?
I can't believe that we were just talking about how to implement some of these strategies in the classroom last week. Maybe it had to do with the seminar at Jericho a few weeks ago. They have a wonderful, thorough assistive technology program. We are having a meeting next week to talk to special ed teachers about what their needs are. You are welcome to attend if you are free. Apple is coming in to do training for 3 days on the iLife suite, specific ways to use the Leopard settings in the classroom and to spark conversations. It would be great if you could join us even if just for a little while. :) Plus I am going to subscribe to your delicious account! Thanks for sharing.
I am a severe needs teacher who just became a digital educator for my school which means lots of new learning about technology - I do have a delicious account - http://delicious.com/katie.mcintosh
