I was just wondering if you had some questionnaire/checklist to obtain data on foreign language teachers' perceptions on the use of Web2.0 tools. I would like to collect data on this topic. The results will be shared here, of course.

Will you attend ISTE 2010 in Denver in the last week of June? If so, please plan to attend a "Birds of a Feather" session on June 28 at the end of the day. The topic is "Technology en espanol" and the idea is that people attending can share resources, ideas, projects, etc. that they are using. ISTE asked me to be the moderator. (I did the same thing last year and we had a great group sharing interesting sites and ideas.)
On the ISTE conference Ning there is a discussion for this topic and you can post your ideas whether or not you can attend. Gracias! Rita

Hello. I just joined this goup a few minutes ago. I wanted to mention that I started a group called "Foreign Language in High School" if anyone is interested. It's just another way to share with other language teachers.

I currently use WizIQ once a week and hold an online help session for all Sp2 students in my school. If you have not checked this out, it is a good way to work with students outside of school. www.wiziq.com

I have used Google video chat as an alternative to Skype. Your students would need to have a gmail account. It is so easy to use because rather than having to initiate a call in Skype, you will see who is available for a video chat whenever you login to your gmail account. The new gmail buzz feature also encourages instant communication. In fact, you may have to think about communication extending beyond your control with the ease of these Google tools.

I use it daily though mostly to make parental phone calls. It is free for Skype to Skype users so if you wanted to set up some "group" meetings with students in a lab you could. Students can send pictures, documents, use web cams, etc. very easily and there is instant messaging as well. In an ideal world you would be able to set up "pen pals" with another school. Hope this helps!
