I have created a number of wikis the purpose of which is to share resources for the teaching and learning of Chinese. What I've found, however, is that no one contributes. My best guess is that is a result of unfamiliarity with wikis, and uncertainty as to the value of sharing such resources.
Is it a pipe dream to think that we can do away with textbooks by all contributing our content to wikis?

Absolutely. That's what they are for. Thanks. (BTW I always email the CLTA-GNY list whenever I create one, but the response is always nil.)
I think this is great, and the Brownsburg Community School Corporation agrees with you about moving away from textbooks. In Indiana, we are currently adopting social studies texts, however, this will be the first year that BCSC will not adopt new texts. As for teaching Chinese, we are in our third year of offeing Mandarin in some capacity. This year is the first year that we offer Mandarin in K-Level III. We are always looking to find more online resources for Chinese.

I have found that I have to make a regular commitment to checking wikis. What has worked for you?
