I will be beginning my second semester of blogging.  I would love to start this semester out with a rubric for their posts and comments.  Does anyone have one they can share?

Hi Karen,

I'm really interested in the book trailers idea. I've seen some. Do you have any links to good examples I can show my students?

I've been getting into blogging.  Here is what I have done so far:

Students in my 7th grade English classes have used blogs for the past few years. Despite my lofty ambition of creating glossaries of academic terms, daily journals, and digital portfolios of their best work, I have yet to create an organized approach that makes best use of the blogs. Next year all of my students will have laptops with them daily, thanks to a great one-to-one program being implemented at my school. As I look forward, I want to find a balanced way to make the blogs more dynamic. I will continue to share my ideas and work here and look forward to hearing about what everyone else is doing with student blogs in their classrooms.

Considerations about privacy, student grouping, publishing, commenting, etc. will also hopefully be welcome in this group.

Cheers,

Robert
