Connecting School, Home, and Projects

In researching the guide, I asked for ideas from all my online communities, including Classroom 2.0, and many of the suggestions involve new media tools.
But one of my favorite tips is refreshingly low-tech. To support project-based learning, parent and school board member Lisa Cooley suggests recruiting a lead parent for each project. The parent could coordinate out-of-school activities, such as escorting a student who needs to do research at city hall or taking a student on a photo shoot. Cooley says, "I think it'd ease the burden of PBL that parents feel." I have a hunch this role would be a stress-reliever for PBL teachers, too.
