Moodle is open source.
Blackboard is a proprietary product.
The rest is minor.
I completed a survey of major colleges and universities in the San Antonio, Texas area.

All these institutions use Blackboard, except one university that developed its customized version of Moodle.

What benefits would instructors and professors gain by using Moodle in addition to Blackboard?

Pro:
Workable, Better Glossary
Flexibiliity
Better Looking Interface

Con:
Dual Work
Maintaining Two Databases
Required Technology Expertise/ Sharper Learning Curve
Institution Mandates Blackboard for Official Functions (Such as Grades)

I am deciding on whether to mention Moodle during an upcoming, locai, presentation for college and university distance educators.

Thanks for your ideas.
