Hello Library 2.0,
I work at a university library/info commons and we are piloting three IPads for student checkout/use.  Has anyone else experimented with this?  Pros or cons to share?  We are trying to figure out how to manage apps, select books, etc. on the devices.

Thanks,
Rita

Yes, I agree - for some users it may be an issue. We initially thought it would be used as an eReader, but are also trying to think of other academic or scholarly uses for it.

Hello Rita

I am a Learning Commons Informationist with the Upper Canada District School Board.  We are currently in the process of evolving our school libraries into Learning Commons and will be incorporating technological tools such as iPads into everyday learning.  It would be handy to know how other educational institutions manage these so that we don't have to re-invent the wheel.  I know that your original post was over a year ago...any words of wisdom to share?

Thanks

Sheila
