Hard to tell how it will grow and scale. However, i can see two advantages already: If you have a "group" set in your contacts (such as a student group or class) you can "buzz" them directly. You could create a buzz for a very specific class (Wednesday the 24th of February class discussion) for instance.

Sure, Wave is more powerfull, and makes more sense in an educational environment inmy view, but buzz allows for more impromptu interchanges, i think.

Buzz is interesting thus far. I have just begun experimenting with my family and friends to learn how it can be used best within our school system. It is kind of a cross between facebook and twitter/blog conceptually. I know that is in its infancy but was wondering how it will play out compared to what Google is doing with Wave?
