I want to start this thread for people to discuss or share their experiences with eteaching training programs for teachers. These could be certification programs or full-fledged master's programs. Programs offered online are of greatest interest. I know it is possible to earn a masters in instructional technology from University of Central Florida completely online.

I am currently working for a certificate at the University of Wisconsin at Stout. See the program: http://www.uwstout.edu/soe/profdev/elearningcertificate.html
Do the classes at UW-stout have live class meetings or is it mostly asynchronous?
I am also enrolled in the certificate program at UW Stout; the courses are asynchronous.
A couple of years ago I earned a Certificate on Online Teaching and Learning from CalState Heyward totally online. Had I wanted to, I could have gone on for my masters, but I was at the end of my classroom years and facing early retirement due to illness.

I have made good use of my Certificate in developing a website that earns very exciting usage stats each month, and seems to be meeting needs of teachers and students around the world. You can see it at http://www.educationalsynthesis.org ... About a years and a half ago, I added a monthly newsletter that is an email providing the link to the monthly newsletter on the site. That way folks can (and do) check back issues to see what else was new that could be of interest.

A few months ago, I added a forum to discuss the content on the website and discuss addition. That has been a flop. Lots of people signed up for it, but none are posting. The forum is at: http://www.enabling.org/drupal/?q=forum/1 ... Are there too many forums? Is this one poorly set up? Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
I just wanted to thank those of you who have posted information so far. This info will be very useful to those teachers (like myself) who are new to online teaching and want to expand their knowledge and skills to become successful online educators. Thanks!!
