Collaborating for REAL Student Improvements!

As you visit/join this Distance Collaborations Group, you may want to give a few stats about yourself and your education position to let new/old group members know how they can collaborate with you.

Additionally, here's a terrific project where high school and college students can collaborate locally AND globally. There are infinite possibilities out there!

If you are thinking of giving your child some math during the summer, http://www.goldstudent.com/ can be a good tool for you. You can think of a way to reward them for the worksheets they complete. It is amazing how well a reward can help.

GoldStudent.com is a fun, easy and effective online math enrichment and assistance program for students K-6. It is designed to help children improve their problem-solving skills, gain confidence in their math abilities and have fun while they learn.

Hello all ... I was hoping for ideas on simply how to use distance collaboration in the classroom. I have used Skype personally but never in the classroom. I have registered with ePals in hopes to connect with students in a different part of the nation, continent, world ... but I was unsuccessful in finding a partner class last year. I would really like to use distance collaboration as a means for enhancing communication-- written and verbal. If anyone at all has suggestions for me, please let me know! I would love to get my students involved in this experience!

If you are interested on the project, please contact me at hugo.gunawan@sekolahtunasmuda.com. Thank you!

Hi! Glad to be in the collaboration room!

My year 6 students are preparing their PYP exhibition. They are working on the transdisciplinary theme 'Media'. Some of them talking about peer pressure in media, good education for children, what's good entertainment for kids and some more (I need to digest the news). If you are interested to have  a collaboration by speaking out your children idea, please contact me and we can have the collaboration (Q&A) through YM or Skype. Thanks!

Sylvia Grace James,

I saw your posting and I am first grade teacher as well. I would love to try to set up a skpying session. My students truly love skyping. I have found that  students learning from each other has been a true honor to experience. Please let me know if you would interested in connecting our classrooms. Thanks and hope to hear from you!

Is anyone interested in a blog like interaction about living in the US and particularly New York City. I can walk around the city with my camera and show the less known as well as the more famous sights. I can answer questions from the students. Anyone interested send me email at drz@enabling.org.

I have gifted classes in 4th and 5th grade that I teach all year. I also work with extension groups where I pull kids out units for 2-3 weeks at a time in grades 6,7,8. If you want to connect and create an online collaboration project please let me know and we can work something out. aarmau@gmail.com

Hello! My name is Sylvia James and I'm a first grade teacher in Sweet Water, Alabama. I previously taught kindergarten for two years. This is my first year in first grade and I'm loving every minute of it!

I'm really excited about integrating global collaboration into my classroom. I'm interested in skyping with another first grade class from New York or anywhere in the North East. We would LOVE to link up with a class from Mexico or South America!
