Looking for Online Collaboration for 5th Grade Class

Hi Jen,

 

I teach grade 5/6 in Chilliwack, BC Canada.  I'm always looking to connect classrooms.  What kind of collaboration did you have in mind?

Hi Chris,

I teach fourth grade in Vermont and am looking to collaborate with a class in another country.  We study civics and government and would like to somehow compare/contrast as well as have kids share their values as they write letters to our local reps (in the spring) persuading them to turn their idea into a bill and present it in legislature.

That would be great!  I set up a wiki where we could house work, unless you were thinking of something else?

In the past when I've done a lot of collaboration with schools for writing, we've used Google Docs and have just created a site to share the combined work and then each shared the link on our home web sites. Could do that as another option. We've used many features in Google, (Chat, presentation, docs, speadsheets collaboratively). Just a thought.
