I like the "Flip Thinking" concept although the content of the video would be the key. A video lecture of the teacher would make me want to poke my eyes out with a sharp pencil.  A narrated powerpoint would be a step up or better yet a learning object - i.e. with objectives, animations, lessons and interactive formative evaluations woudl be the ultimate in effective take home work.

I would be interested to hear other teachers thoughts on Reverse Instruction and Flip teaching. Do you find these methods of teaching and learning productive?

My school has a 1 to 1 laptop scheme and I am interested to hear about others. I have included a link here to my blog regarding benefits of a 1:1 scheme and implementing a 1:1 scheme http://wp.me/1cQjT
I am particularly interested in new innovative ways to use the 1:1 laptops and i-pads in the classroom or educational setting. I am also interested in Formative Assessment using digital resources.

Everybody needs a retired engineer in their group so i've joined. You also need one from the tip of Africa too, believe me. Being not a teacher, I help people in Maths & Computer Usage via email, biddybrian@gmail.com

Dear colleagues and friends,

I was just wondering if you had some questionnaire/checklist to obtain data on foreign language teachers' perceptions on the use of Web2.0 tools. I would like to collect data on this topic. The results will be shared here, of course.

Many thanks for your assistance and cooperation in advance.

Hi, I am a New York City teacher. Our school is going one to one computing classroom next year in fifth grade. I look forward to hearing from other teachers and sharing my experiences.

Hi, I'm a new media specialist in a 3-5 building. This sounds like a very interesting group. I'm looking forward to future discussions.

Hi, I'm an ICT and Computer Science teacher at ACG Parnell College, Auckland, New Zealand. I taught English for 12 years before I made the switch!! Strange, I know... I completed by Master of Information Technology in Education through the University of Melbourne last year. My current research is to investigate the potential of the iPad in classrooms, both from the perspective of student use AND teacher use. I'm also interested in other slate-like devices that are being produced at the moment, as well as Tablet PC's, cloud computing, instructional design - basically anything to do with IT in education fascinates me.

Hello all. I'm a newbie, as the homepage describes and this is the first group I've joined. Looking forwarding to trying out this kind of learning and seeing where it takes me.
