Finding new blogs/bloggers to read is always a challenge. It is great to have the "big guy/girl" bloggers to follow on your blog roll, but they can be intimidating to comment to. It is great to have new bloggers, especially Canadian teacher blogs/bloggers to follow. We can leave comments, encourage each other (especially for new bloggers) and create a great Personal Learning Network (PLN). I cannot begin to tell you how much I've learned about teaching from fellow bloggers.

My blogs are: www.blogjunkie@edublogs.org and www.thebookbin.edublogs.org

I would like to extend an invitation to Canadian Mashup members to drop my blog for a visit and reply to this forum post with your blog address so we can drop by your blog. Adding a RSS feed to your blog is really helpful so we can add your blog to a feed reader. Feedburner is the one I use. I use Google Reader as my feed reader. I like it because it is easy and uncomplicated to use. I follow too many blogs for things to be complicated.

Also, if you haven't joined Twitter (microblogging) I challenge you to give it a go. If you check the December archives on my blog you will find 4 posts titled Twitter Week (1-4) in Review. Might help you see the power of Twitter for creating a PLN and provide you with a few laughs as well! :-)

Looking forward to finding you in the blogsphere!
Cindy

Hi Cindy,

Great idea! I checked out your blog and look forward to following your adventures with your students. I was particularly struck with the big lesson (about posting inappropriate content). This is a good one to learn early on. I hope that students in the class appreciate the experience and learn from it.

I have a blog too (only about a month into blogging): www.wordsmith.edublogs.org. I have rss set up too.

Take care

Shannon
Hi Shannon
The "big lesson" did wonders. I have a several new posts to write and one will be on how great my class was today using private chat and working thru an assignment with it! All that could be heard in the lab with the clicking of keyboards! Amazing! Now the other class, well that is an entirely different entity! :p I'm sure by the end of class they will have figured out how to throw virtual spitballs!
I will drop by your blog and look for that rss feed. Couldn't seem to find it last time I dropped by! I taught special ed and learning assistance last year and enjoy reading your posts very much.
Cindy
Hi Cindy,
I have a blog that I am trying to maintain - my New Year's resolution. I've had it for a couple of years but have only made sporadic entries. In fact, until recently, I hadn't told anyone about it! It's called A Teacher's Ruminations and the address is http://waingortgrade2spanishbilingual.blogspot.com/
Drop by and leave a message.
Elisa
Hi Elisa!
Thank you for posting your blog here. I will drop by shortly to read your blog! I have a significant amount of work to do for UBC and SFU so my time is suddenly very constrained! Keep that New Year's resolution!
Cindy
I edit the Active Learning Blog Carnival which is a monthly journal of articles about engaging your students in learning. I'm always looking for new articles.
Hi Deirdre!
Thank you for posting your blog here. I will be by! I'm always looking for new ideas! Usually ones that get me in over my head. :p
Cindy
HI Cindy -- you can find my blog at Small Changes; BIG RETURNS. I also have a Squidoo wbsite with lots of easy-to-use tools and resources. BTW -- Squidoo is a great choice for an easily built website that you can use with kids. They can select a charity for their 'ad revenue'. The more people hit the ads, the more their fund builds. My choice was KIVA, so click on some ads if you go there.
OK Sue,
I took a visit to your blog and wow! I am such a technology noob compared to what you are doing! It was great to read about the tools you use and to just check out the "stuff" on your blog! I have some catching up to do to be on the same playing field as you are! And here I am thinking Skype is a big deal! HA! I'll be back, lots of learning on your blog. Thanks so much for posting it. :)
Cindy
Dave,
I really enjoyed your blog. You have a reply from Dan Meyers! If you have not checked out his blog, your missing out on one of the better big name edubloggers. His blog is called dy/dan. I am a fan and get many ideas and reflections from his blog even though I am not a high school math teacher.
I will be blogging as a means of reflecting during my pre-internship in March and I would love to get some comments, ideas, and suggestions from experienced educators. Check out my blog at http://mcfarljo.edublogs.org/
Thanks for posting your blog on the forum Jordan. I am totally with you on the power of Twitter as far its capacity for creating powerful PLN's! I simply cannot believe how much I have learned from my Twitter group. I am looking forward to reading more blog posts from you. I also use my blog to reflect on my action research project, usually with a sense of humour as most everything that can go wrong with technology always seems to manage to do so whenever I step into the lab with a class! :0
