Hello!

I teach 7th grade language arts and reading improvement for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders in Carrollton, TX (a suburb of Dallas). This is my 5th year in that institution called middle school.

My name is Marie and I live and teach in Ireland. I am starting to teach 11-12 year olds in Sept for the first time in my teaching career. I have previously taught 6/7year olds and worked as a full time liason person with parents. I am excited to be part of a community of teachers to share ideas etc.

Hi eveyone,
I'm head of teaching and learning in a P-12 college in Melbourne, Australia and I would love to join in the discussion about what makes Middle School Fab for teachers and students. I'm currently part of a team investigating MS on an International level to try to redevelop our own MS pedagogy and structures... Any ideas??

Hi everyone! I teach 6th grade social studies in Goochland, Virginia. I also am Social Studies Department Chair and Cheerleading Coach. One of my goals is integrating technology into the classroom in order to engage students.

My name is Merle. I teach computers in northern Missouri. Right now we are learning spreadsheets by playing Monopoly in 6th grade. We are programming in JavaScript in 7th grade, and we are working on Economics in 8th grade. I would love to share lessons and ideas. I am very interested in methods of teaching economics with Web 2.0 technologies. My classroom is located at Http://middleschoolcomputers.ning.com

I moved to the ms to teach reading/writing this year. I taught 3rd grade for 16 years, the last five or six in an eMINTS room with a lot of technology. I have now landed in a barren wasteland, as far as tech goes: not even a SMARTboard. I recently salvaged a couple of boxes of handhelds from a closet. I have never used handhelds before and am looking for resources and middle school level ideas. Anyone?

Another crazy middle school teacher. 7th and 8th grade language arts (English) and also 8th grade computer skills. 3 preps a day, plus coordinate with 7th grade computer teacher, so it's more like 4. My biggest problems is often getting other classroom teachers to use more technology so that kids get more cross-curricular work in their daily computer lab.
