Hi everyone!  I am a Grade 7/8 language arts teacher who will begin teaching an online class this fall.  I'm interested in increasing the use of technology in our classroom for instruction and assessment, as well as improving my online skills.  I service special education, ELL, and general education students, and would love to share notes with you!

Hello all. I am currently working as a district technology specialist in Citrus County, Florida. I work with our district's middle schools along with a few others, but I am a former media specialist and a high school English teacher. I would be happy to post innovative technology projects I come across and other ideas we are implementing, and also look forward to hearing your great ideas as well!

Hello!  I have been teaching 8th ELA in Greenville, MI for almost twelve years and love what I do.  I am working to incorporate technology into my curriculum and am on a team that is piloting handheld devices for all students in our classrooms.

I am doing literature circles with 9 different novels and looking at how to incorporate blogs as a huge piece for student collaboration.  Does anybody do this and what advice can you give me?

Hello everyone. My name is Evonne and  I am currently in the first year of my program at University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  I am hoping to learn ways to hit the ground running with my class.  I will be graduating  in 2014 with my B.A.  in Middle Grades education with a concentration in English & Social Studies and a B.A. in Social Work.

Hello everyone.  I am looking for advice on teaching ELA to 7th graders.  I have taught 11th and 12th graders for the past twelve years and, due to staffing reductions, am going to be shifting my teaching role dramatically.  Obviously, this is an uncomfortable situation as I can't ask the laid off 7th grade teacher for much advice.  I'm looking for suggestions and wisdom from those of you who are experienced in this area.  I don't think I can bring my copies of The Stranger and the meaning of existentialism with me :)

Hi everyone! I just finished writing a 65-page FREE ebook that helps teachers with reducing classroom interruptions, gaining student respect, being a great coach, and dealing with difficult parents. You can download it at

Does anyone here currently have distance learning in your school or district? I am looking to bring it to my school district and need to present to the board. Does anyone know if there is funding provided for schools/districts that have virtual learning? I appreciate the help. Please email me at sirotiak02@aol.com Thank you.
