Hello,

My name is Egbal Mohamed, I'm the technology teacher at Khartoum American School in Africa/Sudan.

My philosophy in teaching Information & Computer Technology (ICT) in our school, is to help students not only to know how to operate computers, but to use technology as a tool for organization, communication, research, and problem solving.  As an IT coordinator, I will lead the teaching of ICT in our school in order to prepare students to take their place in the 'information society'.

Being an ICT teacher involves both a strong understanding of ICT knowledge, skills and processes as laid down in the school curriculum and exam syllabuses, and how to integrate these into other subject areas in the school. I will guide and help the students to learn ICT skills and knowledge in ICT lessons and then develop them further through using IT in other subjects. Part of my role will be to liaise with and support other subject teachers. Therefore, throughout the ICT teaching I will promote the wider uses of ICT across the curriculum as well as teaching ICT as a subject.
