So I heard about Tikatok on this ning and had my students create "Then and Now" books as a social studies project. In the process of having them email their books to me, the site made changes and now charges $3 per book to download. Grrrrr!

Does anyone have another site that you like for comparison story writing?

Unfortunately, even the other book-creator we know, Big Universe, has gone to fee-for-service, as well. We at TeachersFirst.com just discovered all this today. Let's hope the economy does not take down any more great tools. You might try Glogster. Not the same, but there is an edu area that IS free, and they are making the effort for schools. Perhaps they can create Then and Now "glogs." My condolences. We cannot even display the more creative part of our review of Tikatok (previously embedded as one of their books). Unless we hear otherwise back from the site developers very quickly, we will be removing it from our site.

Rats. I just wrote a blog post about this, I am so disappointed.
