Go to my web site, click on "Computer" then "Projects", and select "Text to Speech". ATT's free site allows to you to type up to 300 characters, speak the words in English, French & Spanish, and save the dialog in a *.WAV format. If you plan to use the utility in a class setting send an email stating you are a school and would like permission to use it in a classroom setting. Otherwise they will think you are hacking their site and block you.

Feel free to use my site as well!
My school was looking for the same thing. Someone told us that one of the newer version of Microsoft will do text to speech. I haven't tried it or seen it work but I thought I would pass on the rumor we heard. It's worth a look.
You could always try:

It's a bit mechanical but getting better. See what you think.
