Take students on your own virtual tours
Google Earth's Tour feature allows anyone to create virtual tours and share them.
One can guide the tour using the software or export them as narrated video. Here's an example: continents and oceans. Also useful is the ability to share tours in native files, which means smaller files and full control of tours. Here's an example: 3D Castles:

I think this is an awesome idea. I could see this as attention grabbing for younger kids. Also, I would use this to teach history so students could see the area that is being discussed.
