Submit your tweetable poem to Twitterature, and win cash and a Board seat

Twitterature has extended its contest for short poems. You and your students are eligible.

Twitterature is an organization of English teachers dedicated to increasing interest in traditional short poetic forms (haiku, kurals, clerihews, cinquains, limericks, &c.) through inviting students to write works in these formats which could fit in a tweet (less than 140 characters). To this end we have a contest for the best poem, whose winner receives a cash prize.

Any currently enrolled student or teacher is eligible to win. The current contest ends August 24 (Monday). The winner receives $100 and a seat on the Twit Lit Board, which means he or she can judge future contests and help us devise ways to use social bookmarking and other Web 2.0 tools to get students interested in literature.

See Twitlit.net. Entries should be sent to twitterlit@gmail.com. This contest runs concurrently with the one mentioned on the site, but this one is only for students and teachers.
