Hello Classroom 2.0. My name is Janet Candy I am a middle school Social Studies teacher in Maryland. I am really excited to join a social media for teachers to share ideas and strategies. I am searching for some activities to do with my SMARTboard with my 8th grade US history students. I want to make it more interactive instead of a glorified presenter. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I know of a website that you could use is SmartExchange at http://exchange.smarttech.com/#tab=0. This website gives a lot of templates and ideas that you could possibly use for the classroom. I would also suggest to make the class more interactive that a game would be used to make the learning experience more fun for the students. An example of a game could be finding the locations of battles on the United States Map. You could also have students draw on pictures such as the route Columbus took to try to get to the Americas.
