Nǐ Hǎo,

I work in China and have limited resources (including monetary). I just discovered the treasure of a website TenMarks. Does anyone use something similar for Reading or Language. I teach 6th grade but some of my students read at a 2nd or 3rd grade level.

Thanks in advance!

Hi April.  Some of my students use Ticket to Read, you can get a free trial membership for month.  It is great for comprehension and they have virtual incentives that my 4th graders love.  Some of my students also use Spelling City to practice spelling and vocabulary.  It includes many games and strategies for learning spelling and vocab words.  It also pronounces the words, definitions and examples.  The students can plug in their lists and use it with all of the features.  It is a free site.  You can pay for an ad free version, but the free one is just as good.  Good luck with your readers!

Hi, April, here's a website that my teammate found and it's an interactive reading strategies program.  I use it with my fourth graders, so it might help some of your students.  It's called "Into the Book" http://reading.ecb.org/
