We created a movie using the software. All of the video clips are on the storyboard. For some reason the software is not allowing us to mute the audio on the clips. When we click on the clip and then select Clip -- Audio, the Mute, fade in, fade out and volume are all grayed out. We can't select them! Any ideaas?

Maybe movie maker does not recognize the codec used to create the audio? Try installing the Combined Community Codec Pack which has support for a wide variety of audio and video codecs. The pack is free. Google it or use one of your own favorite codec packs.

So, you made a WMV movie with WMM?

You need to be in timeline mode to mute audio.

I just loaded a movie that was created with WMV in WMV and was able to mute the audio track.

The devil is in the details....
Very possibly a codec problem. Did you happen to use a Flip camera to capture the video?
