I used to use blogs a few years ago with my Geometry and Algebra 2 students, but have since moved everything to our Moodle site. I enjoyed the blogs, and they were part of their grades, but keeping up them was too time consuming. I was able to create forums in Moodle and points were automatically totaled. I know you were asking about Moodle, so here are links to my blogs.
