Looking for a quality online basic digital photo editing tutorial for 6th - 8th graders

I just sat down to put together a tutorial for students in my Introduction to Computers Class when it occured to me that there might me an excellent one online. A Google search revealed dozens, but most were way too specific. Does anyone know of a tutorial that walks you through cropping, adjusting brightness & contrast while working with actual photos?

What photo editing program are you working with?
Well, I was thinking of using the basic Office Photo Editor, but I thought it might be worth using Picasa or something similar. The drawback of Picasa is that everyone would have to get an account which isn't going to cover everyone.
Last term I used Picasa with a class of 11/12 year olds as part of a digital photography/art class. I found it simple to use and quite effective. The advantage is that it is free so if the kids want to use it from home for their own photography it is easy to download and use.
