La relevancia que han adquirido las TIC en la sociedad no ha sido menor en el caso de las instituciones educativas. Ahora bien, el problema de integración de las TIC en los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje no son un problema meramente técnico, sino un problema didáctico. La discusión, por tanto, se centra en el currículum escolar y, más concretamente cómo integrar funcionalmente las TIC en dicho currículum para hacerlas efectivas en el aula.
