The Italian teachers of the la
scuola che funziona
(the school that works)  project have launched
the Manifesto degli
insegnanti
(Teachers’ manifesto). I translated it into English in http://etcjournal.com/2010/07/13/italy-teachers-manifesto/ because I believe that its tenets are very pertinent in other countries too, where teachers are facing false economy measures and bureaucracy overload that will in the end harm people - and the economy itself.
