Hey!  I'm a 1st grade teacher in Nashville, TN.  My principal wants me to try and find some videos on American History and also TN History (in case you're also in TN).  I thought I would start here and see if anybody has any websites that have videos or any websites that may be interactive for 4th grade.  Thanks and happy teaching!!

Just re-watched the HBO production of "Tuskagee Airmen" on a DVD $5 on a table in Walmart. I think it would be interesting to fourth graders. I just saw "The Miracle at St. Anna's" which may be more period fiction than history.

Davy Crockett was a Tennesse-born American hero. There are videos, and probably some links on youtube, to some episodes and movies.

The HBO mini-series on John Adams would give the students a good insight into colonial times and the early Republic.

I've reposted youir request to my Facebook page: Anne Pemberton. You may want to check there for more suggestions.
These links might help you get started...

(It's billed as "for New York State educators" but you might be able to register anyway, or at least get some ideas...)
I site I really like (and started in Memphis) is watchknow.org. You can sort by grade, subject, etc. It's all free.

Give it a try...
