Hi everyone. I just finished my undergraduate studies and am currently teaching ESL in AZ, but I'm really interesting in education technology for graduate school. Does anyone have any info about this??? I'd love some advice.

Thanks!

Hi Coral,

I'm in an M.Ed program right now through the University of Illinois' Global Campus. Its an online program with a concentration in e-learning. I'm really enjoying it overall and I've learned a great deal about technology-based teaching and learning. There is more online at http://global.uillinois.edu/ You only take one class at a time, it's all online, and the degree program is 18 months.

I got my M.S. in Instructional Technology from St. Joseph's University out here in Philadelphia. They've recently moved it to online classes.

Thank you!
Hi! University of Illinois is the place to be for your graduate studies.

I would recommend going to the campus -- rather than doing your studies through the online global campus. On campus you'd have an assistantship with the computing department and all the technology you want to learn.

I'm finishing my PhD in Ed at Illinois, and it is such a think-tank right now, I started my own Educational Software Company. I strongly recommend heading there.... it's a laid-back campus, relaxed classroom environments, and you're 2 hours from Chicago & Indianapolis, plus there's a ton to keep you occupied there.
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The main campus, not the other ones.
Thank you.
Hi Coral,

I'm planning to apply to the M.S. Instructional Design and Technology at Cal State University Fullerton.

There is also an M.S.E. in Educational Technology, which is geared more towards classroom technology.

Cheers,
Ed
Thank you!
Iowa State has a great distance learning program in curriculum and instructional technology. Most of it is delivered online with a few (1-2 per semester) meetings in Ames, Iowa each semester. I can't speak for the faculty, but I'm willing to bet they'd be willing to Skype (or other means of video conferencing) you in for these gatherings if you are unable to make the long trip to Iowa. The program is designed for full-time educators and future ed. tech leaders while they are still working full-time. ISU has a solid reputation in this area. I will be finishing this spring and would be happy to share more if you're interested.
I'm currently enrolled in the CDIT (Curriculum Design and Instructional Technology) program at the State University at Albany. Its a great fully on-line course with the option of taking classes on campus as well. The professors/classes I've had have been terrific. Good luck finding a school!

Actually i am very much interested in Technology in Education. I really want to be a individual who goes to schools and just makes recommendations to the building as well as the district on what new and current technology can be implemented. Any ideas, on what type of Master Program that would fall under?
Educational Consultant- in technology I'm looking into the same style programs they are under educational technology, or instructional design. Hope that helps.
