I just ran across the CEO/CTO's of Tech Empower's survey from 2007 which provides a comparison of e-learning management systems (the study breaks down into large businesses, medium sized businesses, and education/government). I've posted those systems that scored between a 7.0 and 10.0 in a recent post--In other words the best of the best in e-learning management systems.
I hope this list is helpful. Feel free to contribute your advice, experience, and ideas. I hope this will help teachers and administrators in the future make the best decisions with regards to time, resource, and economic investment.
