In our region we are starting to look at the idea of developing district-wide 'digital lockers' This would allow students and teachers to access their files and web-based tools (think blogs, wikis, etc). through one space. Ning is a great example of this, but I am interested with success stories on how districts have done this at the district (or state) level. Please do share what you have done as your 'successes' or even trip-ups as we can then all learn from that.
Thank you,
J : )

I am interested in this solution also. Have you made any progress in a vehicle or in finding others success / failure stories?

Have you taken a look at eBackpack  https://www.eBackpack.com  They just won a Readers' Choice award and is a great product!

Google Docs is a great way, especially if your school/region is a Google Apps for Edu school/region.

Using a cloud service like Dropbox is also a possibility, 2 gigs of free storage accessible anywhere.
