Cold War Peace Summit Project - Need help and advice

I am working on creating a project for 7th grade social studies where the students final project is to hold a peace summit/conference. During this conference each student will take on the role of a country or important person to role play. For their learning they are going to have to study and research the viewpoints, decisions, and tactics of that country or person. For their evaluation they will be graded on how well they accurately portray the person/country assigned to them.

Here is my question. I am far from a Cold War expert. I have been reading and learning about this situation, but I need some help.

Who could be some potential people and/or countries for the students to portray? I think people would be best because they could take on the role of that person along with the country ideals.Can anyone help me generate a list of names that I could use and look into to help finalize this project. Thanks
