Hi all,

In February next year I will have a group of Year 9 students (approx 14-15 years old) who will be studying civics. I am keen to take an international approach to this site, and I am wondering if anyone out there is keen to join me! I am based in Melbourne, Australia, and so I am hoping that I can make contacts in as many other countries as possible.

At this stage the basic idea is very simple - the students will begin by explaining how leaders are chosen in each country. Hopefully this will stimulate some discussion, and a better understanding of civics on an international scale will be the result.

I would imagine that the commitment required will be flexible. As we all know a project like this can "take on a life of its own" very quickly.

Hoping to hear from people all over the world!

Hi Bryan,
I teach a grade 10 Civics class On-Line for the Halton District School Board, (Burlington, Ontario, Canada) I like your idea. let me know more as you start the project and I'll have my students "write in".
Thanks for this - the ultimate goal is to have groups in at least five different countries. The more "different" the countries, the better!

Hi Bryan!
I have a private school in Buenos Aires, Argentina , you can visit our website: www.colegioaula21.com.ar We could be interested in your project but we will be on holidays till the 8th of march. Please let me know if this fit your project.
Un abrazo
Lucia
Thanks Lucia - it is great to hear from you!

The program will be running until June, and so it is not a problem at all that your class won't be able to join until March. It would certainly be very valuable to have a school in Argentina as a member of the group.

Hi all,

As a teacher in the southern hemisphere, my Summer holidays are almost over. That means that this project is about to begin!

Still looking to add a few names to the list; hopefully when things get started the project will grow. If anyone is interested in joining in soon, please let me know.
