Best online site to sign up and manage a class

Hi David. Although Google sites for educators requires some set up -- it is still all hosted in the cloud. I've been working with several schools this year to establish online learning communities via the Google platform, and I have to say it has been going really well, especially with the free price tag. Have you looked into Google as an option?

I use Engrade and I am very happy with it. It includes an attendance book, assignment calendar, internal email system, and free access for the students and parents to view the mark book.

What about Weebly for Education? Individual student websites if you want, password protected, blogs etc.

I really like www.edu20.org. It's all online, free and has a ton of resources. There are wikis, blogs, groups, messaging, assignments and grading. I, as well as several teachers at my school, use it and everyone has had very good things to say about it.

Looks interesting, although the UI looks a little 'old schoolish' - but then I've been ning spoiled. On the other hand the rich possible feathures look very good (especially the debat option as well as ordinary forums,blogs and wiki's.
